Workflow Transformation: Integrating AI into Social Work Practice & Education

(Zhejiang Shuren University)

Date, Time, & Location: Monday, June 8, 2026 | 14:00 – 17:00 | HG01

Language: Chinese

[Introduction] This workshop is designed for social work educators, organizational leaders, and practice researchers who seek to move beyond basic AI tool use toward more systematic integration. It will focus on how artificial intelligence can be embedded into the core processes of administration, education, and practice research in order to support more coherent, scalable, and sustainable forms of professional work.

The workshop focuses on three interrelated areas. First, it examines how artificial intelligence can support administrative workflows in organizational and educational settings, covering the full cycle of professional tasks, including data collection, document drafting, report writing, project evaluation, and organizational knowledge management. Second, it explores the application of artificial intelligence in evidence-based social work, with the aim of lowering the barriers to evidence-based practice and supporting the simulation and analysis of service outcomes. Third, it discusses the role of artificial intelligence in practice research, with a focus on assisting in the organization of practice materials and promoting the articulation of tacit knowledge in social work, as well as its extended applications.

The workshop will draw on accessible, easy-to-use China-based AI tools, such as Qwen, Qoderwork, and Qclaw, to design reusable workflows; it will also use generative AI tools such as CodeBuddy to design and develop multi-purpose apps. Through this workshop, participants will gain a clearer understanding of practical pathways for integrating artificial intelligence into professional environments and will be encouraged to rethink the role of AI: it is not only an auxiliary tool for improving productivity, but also an important component in reconfiguring workflows for education, organizational management, and social work practice research.
